Also known as Mountain Tea, Sidiritis, and Ironwort. Ironwort has been used since antiquity for healing battle wounds caused by metal. Today it's used to aid digestion, strengthen the immune system and suppress common cold, the flu and other viruses, allergies and shortness of breath, sinus congestion, even pain and mild anxiety. Papoulia as it is also called in Greece has anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidant properties.
Generally taken for colds, inflammation of the upper respiratory, indigestion and gastrointestinal disorders, osteoporosis prevention and protect against the loss of bone density as it enhances the mechanical strength of our bones.
It is also considered, anticonvulsant, analgesic, healing, antioxidant and anxiolytic.
Mountain tea contains a number of components such as flavonoids, diterpenes, phenylpropionate, iridoids, monoterpenes. In the mountains of Greece, there are about 17 species of Mountain tea. Unlike that found in Europe these do not have a stimulatory effect and can easily be consumed in the evening before bedtime. German research shows that it may help Alzheimers disease.
Directions: 1 or 2 Droppers full under the tongue 2-3 times a day or as needed. If alcohol sensitive, place desired amount in Hot Tea or water, alcohol will evaporate in 1-2 minutes.
